So you’ve built up your GLI skills, climbed the high ropes course and discovered your secret love for Poop Deck. Now you want to take it to the next level. We feel you. Meet Summer Expedition, our program for GLI graduates who are ready for an adventure. Come back for three weeks of extraordinary friendships, life changing workshops and the thrill of your first GLI road trip! In Summer Expedition you will travel to an underprivileged community to volunteer. You will get to know a part of America – and yourself – that you have never seen before. Get ready to take charge of trip planning and group decision (how many cups of rice does it take to feed a bus full of people?), set personal goals and hit the road. Summer Expedition girls leave campus for 10 days of travel, adventure and service.

You already have the skills to build strong relationships, be yourself and push the limits of your comfort zone. Now, get ready to learn and practice new leadership skills you will use for the rest of your life.

Workshops
Before leaving for your adventure, you’ll have one week of trip prep on campus. Besides playing all your favorite warmup games and planning your playlists, you’ll learn the skills that you need to be successful on the road. Workshops include: Project Planning, Budgeting, Group Facilitation, Negotiation, Managing Conflict, and Leading with Emotional Intelligence. Plus, you’ll probably want some helpful tips to read maps and ride buses. When you return from your adventure, you’ll have three days to polish those presentation skills so you can share your experience with the world.

Life at GLI
Life at GLI will be the one you know and love… early wake-ups, morning games, no cell-phone, slip ‘n slide… but now it’s about something bigger. This time you’re setting out not just to change yourself, but to change your world.
